Veterans Disability: Filing a Supplemental Claim
In 2019, Congress made some changes to how Veterans’ claims are processed. After the first denial, the claimant is allowed the opportunity to file a supplemental claim with fresh evidence & have a new examiner review the file rather than waiting years for a hearing. Before filing your supplemental claim, though, be sure to have an accredited attorney review your file with you. If there is no new evidence to submit, you may get a swift denial and be forced to wait multiple years for a hearing with a Veteran’s Judge.
